Very few people can afford to pay more for a RV than they paid for their home and watch it depreciate at an astonishing rate to boot.
Sadly that is a major drawback to
investing in an RV. Most are not investments. Most barely make it to the end of payments. It does not speak well for the industry and maybe when the baby boomers start to end their love affair with RV's, the next generation will opt for some other form of adventure. And the sad thing is that camping is a wholesome form of family recreation and a little quality in that lifestyle goes a long way. Same thing for the many retirees who dreamed all their working lives of a full time lifestyle. There is nothing like fixing stuff after every trip to kill the mood to head out again next weekend or leaving the RV at the dealers to fix something and get it back weeks or even months later. It seems like we do everything we can to kill the industry but it seems to survive.
