I had an 05 25' Airstream-thought quality was a mixed bag. No doubt the riveted construction method is very expensive. The plastic coated aluminum panels seem to hold up to the weather well-and when the coat finally fails the panels are still sound and intact. Some of the interior fittings and furnishings were of good quality..sturdy and durable. The rig was nice to drive-handled well and got good fuel economy. I still think if you buy an Airstream with the idea of keeping it forever it is a good bet-especially the smaller trailers.
OTOH hundreds of rivet holes open leak opportunities. Some factory sealing could be poorly done-such as around rear bumper area. Flimsy non durable skylight fogs and fails quickly in my area (grrr). At price range should have more durable floor material than OSB (due to tendency for leaks). Some are built with plywood. Poor quality foam stuffing in furniture/mattress in my Safari. Overall construction quality not as good as my Lazy Daze.
Overall nicely styled interior/exterior. Not the easiest to maintain trailers but can be kept going for long time. Especially smaller ones which have less need for maintenance, major projects easier, and are desirable as used. Bottom line I think they're kind of a fussy rewarding project even from new. Best for those who love tinkering and maintenance. They're sweet to drive and IMO look great inside and out.
