blood test and a chest x-ray can confirm valley fever. Get it. I was diagnosed with Disseminated coccidioidomycosis (valley fever in body tissue other than the lungs) about six years ago. It never goes away. Your immune system will eventually get it under control with the help of anti fungal medicines but it is a life long illness.
Get a blood test ASAP. Hopefully results are negative but if not the sooner you can start an antifungal like diflucan or sporanox the better. I was accurately diagnosed within two weeks of the first symptoms (major swelling of the ankles, knees, and wrist) and still struggled with daily duties for six months.
There is an excellent Facebook Group concerning Valley Fever! The above is absolutely correct, once you have it, it never goes away but does become dormant. Fluconazole is the typical meds taken and for me , I was feeling better after the first dose. Keep in mind even with a chest X-ray, Valley Fever resembles Tuberculosis and pneumonia or a Flu and it took a CAT scan to finally get diagnosed correctly. Typically a Pulmonologist or Infectious Disease Specialist are the ones to seek out.
I also hope your Negative for this....stay well!
