Question 3 - equipment/supplies that are MUST have

Pillows

Pick up a small electric space heater at a store like Walmart. If you are hooked up to electric, it's a lot cheaper to operate than propane. Ours cost about $15 and has been great for the past 4 years. Agree with first-aid kit, small assortment of tools, inexpensive multi-meter, extra water, and bring along any hobbies you enjoy if possible.

Get a tire pressure gauge to check tire pressures and an inexpensive tire inflater in case pressures are low.

Get a surge protector for your electric.

Thats easy. Be sure to get whatever you need when you don't have it & you need it.

Besides all the normal stuff I carry 2 to 3 bikes depending if our GS comes with us, a rubber raft, life jackets, oars, fishing stuff, snorkeling gear, backpacks, camera with 50x zoom lens, smart phones with all the traveling apps and tools to fix things when they break and they always do.

Hand crank battery operated weather radio. Flares. Scotch, Ballvenie if you invite me.

We use the plastic grocery bags for trash always have plenty. Entertainment items we like Gin Rummy so cards are essential humidity takes toll on cards. Movies on CD when nothing worth watching on TV if you are so inclined.

We hardly ever use a camp fire but do grill on a propane grill. We also use a crock pot
set it up and when we come back it is a meal. We have a 12v we use while on the road. It has meal ready when we stop for night. Tools just a small kit sockets, screw drivers. You will need extra light bulbs unless staying near cities. Remember if you are somewhere for a week or so you can get needed repair items online and have it delivered. CHAIRS good comfortable outdoor chairs, bug nets spray to those nasty blood sucking vermin. A smile and the thought it don't matter we're all in this together and none of us get out alive

A courageous can do spirit.
A sense of humor.
A positive attitude.
A pair of pliers, a roll of duct tape and bailing wire (or several wire coat hangers) and a good “I can fixit” imagination.

I like Downtheroad's answer best. The only thing I would add is that you should camp in your driveway at least one night before departure. More if you can swing it.

Everybody's needs are different. Things like I tend to group wire (broadband internet) with indoor plumbing.
