As with many things "your millage may vary"
A properly designed charger (Key words Properly Designed) will not discharge.
At least one maker of golf cars the charger is a 2 part device, PART of it is "Resident" in the golf car at all times.. This one will not since it is disconnected when it's not plugged in to 120vac.
