Welcoome the forum. Unfortunitely, as you are learning, looking in owners manuals and generic on-line sources are not really good ways to figure out what your specific truck is capable of because of a combination of advertising and simply too many different variables. You have to know the specifics of your truck and how to apply the various specs. Keep reading and learning you'll catch on quickly.
A quick learning tip for you. With 1/2 ton vehicles (actually any single rear wheel non-commericial vehicle) the manufactures tow rating is not what will be limiting. Your limiting factor will be what you can carry when it comes to TT/FW due thier heavy tongue wieghts. Do the math based on your trucks specs on the door sticker than then go add the transmission cooler, an appropriate hitch and brake controller and you should be good to go.
