Well if I thought it was that simple I wouldn't have asked. Both in the owners manual and resources found online, I have seen the above numbers with ZERO mention of whether or not the towing package was installed. Hence, the confusion
The HD towing package is an option. Some trucks have it, some do not. That why Ford lists tow ratings with and without it in the manual and towing guides.
So, you don't have the HD towing package, and your tow rating is 5k pounds. What is your axle ratio? These are the things you will want to add to tow pretty much any high walled RV.
Larger trans cooler
7-pin wiring harness
Class 3/4 receiver
Proportional brake controller
That stuff will cost $400-500 in parts.
Possibly rear gear depending on what your stock ratio is, which is $500-$2500 installed depending on location and 2WD/4WD.
What kind of RV are you interested in? How many people are traveling together?
It may make more sense to buy a more capable truck first. You will likely be limited to about 6k pounds dry if you have 3.55 or 3.73 gear and you added the things I listed above. You will have to decide for yourself it that is what you looking to purchase.
