Question for the planners?

How often does this work out? If you have a

serious traffic delay

or a breakdown, do you push on no matter the hour?...

It didn't for me! This is exactly what happened to me.

When I first started out full timing I thought you had to reserve ahead period. That is until the day I called to reserve a site for 'that night' and the owner said they would need my credit card just to 'hold' the CG site..

I took this to mean that when I got there I would sign in and use the credit card to pay for it upon arrival. How wrong could I have been. :(
There was a massive car pileup on the road I was on so I called the CG to say I would not be able to arrive that night.

I called them back '3 hours after making the reservation' to cancel when I saw there was no way I would make it there.
She said they had charged my card and there was no refund.

I have not made a reservation for a CG since that day.

BTW: You can pull into almost every CG after hours after they are closed.

You will see a note on the door telling you to leave a check in a drop box or there will be a note to find a spot and see them in the morning. I have done this numerous times and continue to when traveling later into the evening. No reservation required! :B
