Question on Lippert motorized components

Has any one here used their slides, stabilizers, tongue jack, or awning with out having your battery connected.
I am interested to know if they will operate with just the RV plugged into AC voltage
I have an e-mail off to them asking them, but thought I might get some input from people who have them

  • I had my slide chatter pulling it in with the unit plugged in to shore power , but when I ran it out hooked to the truck the next stop it ran perfect. Then a couple days latter after setup the furnace didn't want to operate when plugged in to shore power. I backed the truck up and hooked it up and the furnace ran perfect. That told me the battery wasn't right. I replaced the battery now it runs fine. That leads me to believe that the convertor is not strong enough to operate 12volt items mentioned for any length of time without damage to something.
  • DC electric motor drive or HYd and how big a slide
what are the instructions from the MFG

what you might get away with a couple of times
and what is recommended is not the same thing

how big is your converter, as IT has to supply the 12vdc power, when there is NO battery

a hyd pump is a fairly steady load
dc motors can have high torque start up spikes and be too much for the converter
  • I have our V-Cross plugged in to the house for the winter with the battery kept in my heated garage. I have had occasion to put out my slide and work the (110V) TV during the winter on the 110 alone. everything worked fine.
