What year CRV are you thinking of getting? We have a 2013 AWD, 2014 is the last year towable 4 down. Two wheel drive 2015 & 16 are towable on a dolly, AWD can be towed only on a trailer. Dick
1. What hitch system & baseplate are you using?
Roadmaster baseplate ordered on Amazon Roadmaster Falcon 2 that stays with the MH receiver.
2. What brake system are you using?
BrakeBuddy basic purchased in 2005 for a previous Toad.
3. What else do we need to consider/include in the set up?
I made and installed a fuse switch to shut off the correct fuse for towing.
4. Where did you get the CRV set up for towing; i.e., baseplate and wiring installation?
I had baseplate installed by local farm equipment welding & fabricators that is also a dealer for Raodmaster products. I use magnetic LED towing lights. I ran wiring from front of CRV to inside the back with a plug so I don’t need to have wires outside the vehicle.
5. What was the cost breakdown for parts and set up labor.
2 hours labor for baseplate install.
6. Anything you would have done differently? If I ever need to replace the tow bar would get the Falcon II all terrain.
If I didn’t already have the BreakBuddy I would have gone for a built in brake system.
