Questions on battery setup for enclosed cargo trailer

I am looking at purchasing an enclosed cargo trailer. I have a 5th wheel RV and understand how the battery gets charged and operates when breakaway is pulled but looking at this cargo trailer I don't know where the battery goes or how it would get charged etc. I see that it has a breakaway box and cable but no real provision for the battery. It has interior lights and brakes so a battery has to be in place some where.

I assume I need a battery box and a way to mount it to hitch.

Just would like idea of how this will all work.

Thanks!

Dave

  • OP here,

Here is a better photo of the trailer. In this one you can see the box on the trailer hitch that the breakaway cable is connected to. Is this where the battery is? If so it can't be very large so keeping the interior lights on for any time is out of the question right?

  • Many power the interior lights off the TV.
Looks like you could install battery box in front of the nose on some strut or angle iron.
Battery charged off TV charge line same as RV.
  • Looks like this is at a dealer and they should know all this, however mine is mounted in front by the hand crank. The set up is not there probaly because it is not required for it's weight. Deale should set it all up at no charge. Also requires a riding mower size battery.
  • Sometimes they mount them inside. It will most likely not be a full sized battery. Just large enough to set the brakes.

After looking closer that box on the side may also include the battery.
