- traveylinExplorerHad a remco for 3 years applied to a vehicle I already owned. It worked had issues.
I would not buy a new/used vehicle to install a remco on. Their are two many other tow compatible vehicles that do not need it.
pops - moishehExplorerWe had one for 5 years. Every 6 months I would clean it and spray with silicone lube. Worked great. You do not need a spare shaft!
Moisheh - camper19709ExplorerI have used the Remco disconnect for 10 years on my 04 Chevy Astro van with no problems. Wouldn't hesitate to buy one again.
- Corkey05ExplorerI used a Remco disconnect for 8 years on my 95 Blazer until last year when I traded it. Not one time did it let me down, worked perfect for all those years.
I know several that use them and haven't heard a single complaint. - Phil___StephieExplorerI used the Remco disconnect on a two wheel drive GMC pickup, worked fine. My brother and I installed it, so it was done right. If needed, wouldn't hesitate to do it again.
- TrackrigExplorer IIA friend used one. He always had to carry a spare drive shaft and had many problems. Bought a different toad after a year or two so that he didn't have to put up with it anymore. Don't waste your time and money.
Bill - BumpyroadExplorerif you mean drive shaft disconnects, I used one, hated it. got to crawl under toad to clean/grease it. mine kept popping out of sync. try one before you buy one, after jamming a rotating gear into a stationary one and hearing it grind, not a fun thing to do.
bumpy - j-dExplorer IIThey work but many who've had them hate them. They're an expensive part, and the only way I'd have one would be to also have a backup plain driveshaft.
Some of the problems are installation - The cabling has to move freely. Some are environment - Gravel and sand will goof them up. Others have complained about durability.
