At an RV place I was looking around at, I saw someone with a trailer similar to mind (fully loaded, about 7000 pounds) attached to a V6 Toyota Tacoma. The headlights of the Tacoma were definitely angling up quite a bit.
I know I'm self-righteous about this, but I bought a rig well within my truck's weight capacity, and instead of using dry weight, used the GVWR of the trailer. Of course, the biggest regret I have was buying a half ton instead of a one ton... but the truck can pull (and more importantly stop) the trailer, and that is the important thing.
