quickest way to get passport (daughter lost hers)

going to head to Niagara falls....... daughter lost her passport about a year ago- Is there an easy way to get another? It's confusing. Can I just re-apply for another? I see a lot of websites but...

Fill out the application, carry it with a photo to the post office. If necessary, pay for the expedited service. Those web sites won't speed things up. They actually slow things down because the paperwork has to pass through more hands.
