One good solution I've seen is the campfire ring being placed deeper in the site on decent level, rather than squeezed in between tightly angled neighbors.
Give campers some room. Sound decreases something like the cube of the distance. I don't remember the exact amount, but 15ft will go a long way at quieting noise rather than 3 ft
For us, most noises aren't a problem. It's the sharp sounds that cause alarm that wake me. Dogs barking, a shrill, door slam, outside voices, etc. If it is calm and casual, seldom an issue.
