Quite noisy spring bars

Somewhere (not sure if it was this forum or not) I read about some pads to place under the spring bars that can reduce the amount of noise the hitch makes when pulling the trailer through nice quite campgrounds. I have an E2 hitch and would like to be a little more stealthy ;).

  • Thanks Dad :B I will give them a call. The bars seemed to be sitting flat on the plates so I don't think that is the issue.
  • This Sway Bracket Jacket

The main issue for you is that the E2 uses that friction for 100% of its sway control. The Equal-i-zer uses the head friction for the majority of its sway control. I dont know if you can add the pads on a E2. May want to call them and ask.

People also put a small amount of lube on the bracket but again, you are decreasing your main form of sway control.

Make sure your bars are sitting flat on the bracket. If they are angled they will rub against the edge and cause more noise.
