If you lose a powered awning due to rain its by your own doing...or lack of doing. A few very simple mods and you can leave it extended as long as you care too. Our Dometic 9100 has been up since the Wed. Prior to labor day. 8 inches of rain here in western PA last Friday through Monday, and a few gusty thunderstorms to boot. Its staying out until Sunday. I'm confident enough I commute to work and am away from the site for 10 or 11 hours during the week, and have been using these mods for 3 years. Every thing is self storing and takes less than 10 minutes to set up. It makes a powered awning the same as a manual in carport configuration.
