Yep. At one time "Rain-X" was a single product, a hydrophobic polymer dissolved in alcohol/acetone/acid.
Nowadays, Rain-X is a brand, with a wide range of products. But, if it's not specifically stated, to me "Rain-X" refers to the original, in the yellow bottle. Been using it for almost 40 years.
I not so fondly remember asking my wife to pick some up from the store several years ago. After trying for an hour to get the desired results, I finally noticed it was not the original product.
