Another benefit is in winter ice pop's right off the windows. I reply it every 3 months and also use their washer fluid and wiper blades.

Been using it since I was in high school (20 years ago! Yikes, I feel old now!!) Huge fan. On the windshield of a new vehicle, it usually takes two coats a couple of days apart to get it on there thoroughly. Not sure why, but it's always been my experience that the first coat doesn't take well.

Since I started using the Rain-X washer fluids, it lasts even longer and seldom needs to be reapplied but maybe every second or third year for the windshield. (Usually twice a year if I use the cheap washer fluid) The side-glass and rear window will go several years as well.

Jayco23...you need to follow the directions:

After wiping the RainX on and letting it dry, THOROUGHLY wipe it off with a damp-wet towel, preferably terrycloth. Then immediately polish it with a DRY soft terrycloth towel. Your "oily" haze will be gone.

For those of you with new Rams, DON'T use the Rain-x washer fluid. It coats the level sensor and causes it to malfunction. Then it takes awhile using the blue stuff to get it clean.

I used Rain-X for many years and have no complaints about it. I mostly don't now because I simply don't have time to clean my windows often, much less do a Rain-X install.

What I have noticed, is when washing my windows, using paper towels I can never seem to get them "film-less". The only thing I've used that works is a squeeky clean cotton shirt or sock. Almost every paper product I seem to use lets a film, but the cotton cloth buffs it right off. Not sure if it's the window cleaner (Windex, et al) or the paper chemicals. Could be the reason some people have trouble with Rain-X.

Another RainX fan here. I think it improves the safety because it can keep your windshield clearer in heavy rains that can sometimes overwhelm wipers here.

I've never had any issue at all in mist, or anything else......

I like rainx treatment and the washer fluid, but the last few years I have been using Lucas quick quick wax spray on the car. It does a very nice job on the paint, trim, and windows. The water beads and rolls off the windshield just like rainx. And it is very easy to apply and buff.

Try this method and you will be impressed.
