Our new Outback did not have a cover on the stove either. We ended up getting a large cutting board with a cork backing from WallMart and just place it on top of burners. It stays in place when traveling. It creates extra counter space when washing dishes, and still serves as a cutting board, carrying tray, portable table top, and hard surface when we need a hard surface when laying in bed. We can take it outside on the picnic table so can use it put utensils on when cooking outside. Our last TT had a metal cover attached that opened up and folded back. I was VERY disappointed our Outback did not have a cover until we bought the cutting board. Because the cutting board has so many other functions other than just a cover, it's actually better and more functional than a single purpose metal hooded cover. Our cutting board is that hardened plastic black with the cork back. It's the largest one Wall Mart sold. And because it's black, it blends right in with the stove and the rest of the decor.
