I love your post. It is so true in so many ways.
I think these businesses with these problems are run by people that have poor business skills and they hire people in the lower pay range because that is all they can afford to hire (cyclical hiring problem). Those people never successfully sell enough so they hang around for 6 - 12 months and then quit to go find better pay because they are on commission or they get fired for never selling anything. The owner never figures out the employees have no skills to do their jobs because the owners or managers themselves have no skills to do their own jobs.
I have a similar rant about local businesses in general never calling back, never responding to their contact-us form on the website, saying they will come over and not showing, etc.
So many of them would be easy to put out of business by just trying a little.
