Not true anymore thank goodness! Unlike the OP not all of us....probably most of us can't get the smoking deal that he got. He is very fortunate without doubt! That is really great! I know myself a lot of the reason I went so long without was the shear cost. For whatever reason my insurance never covered hearing aids which I think is incredible but I digress.....you can now buy very affordable aids at MDHearingaid.com. I don't get any kickbacks from this company but I should as much as I recommend them! They now have digital aids. The company is outstanding and customer service is second to none. I've been using their aids now for years.
