So my dad did just this thing when he sold his class C about 10 years ago. Went to Hershey show early, parked it near the entrance with a For Sale sign and sold it that day.
Driving from TEXAS to Hershey sounds rather expensive to me. Looks like 1600 miles to Hershey from Victoria. At 12 mpg towing, that's 133 gallons of gas ONE WAY. Hoping to sell in one day, or else camping near one of the largest RV shows (lots of money to stay, hard to find a spot). Then you gotta drive back home, and what if it doesn't sell?
Sounds to me that it is WAY less risky to just trade it in or sell on Craigslist local. What camper do you have, what did they offer and what are you hoping to sell it for?
Unless the potential upside is several thousand dollars, I'm not sure it would be worth the risk...
The last offer I got was $35k on a trade-in. Substandard even as a trade-in offer. The best was 45k on a trade-in for a brand new quarter million dollar motor home. I have it on CL and here as well as some other sites for 49,999. It is absolutely true what several commenters have said; owners tend to overvalue their stuff. I looked at the advertised prices on CL for Cyclone units similar age and model and I think I priced it in the middle of the range- which was 55k on the high end to about 45k on the low end. I would certainly appreciate anyone's comments as to my pricing of the unit.
