Ready Brake vs Brake Buddy

The ReadyBrake will work with all tow bars that use either a 2" receiver or a ball hitch.

Once again....I have a Blue Ox tow bar I bought from Craigslist. Don't need the Elite system so I just need to know if anyone has Brake system that will work with Blue Ox tow bar. The systems in my Topic subject are the only ones I am the least bit familiar with. I guess I just need to go on Ready Brake and Brake Buddy's websites to see if they will work with my Blue Ox Aventa.

One more vote for Readybrake here. I'd take it over a Brake Buddy (or any other 'brake in a box' system) ANY day of the week.

Its a shame you already got the Blue Ox tow bar, as if you bought Readybrake's ReadyBrute Elite combination, you'd get their really nice 8,000 lb rated tow bar AND their Readybrake braking system all as one package deal for almost the same as you paid for just the Blue Ox tow bar alone.

If you decide you want to go with Readybrake (which I would highly, highly recommend), I'd look and see if you can return the Blue Ox Tow bar, and get you a ReadyBrute Elite. Will save you a LOT of $$, nearly $1000, over what you're going to pay for a Brake Buddy and Blue Ox tow bar.

X3 Ready Brake. Going on 6 years and no problems. (And no Brake Buddy box sitting on the floor board in the way)

+1for Ready Brake Elite system. 8,000 lb capacity, light and easy to handle, allin one system. As a solo traveller, very easy to hookup and disconnect. I like the fact it is all mechanically with no electronics to worry about. I had the ReadyBrake Elite installed and wired for $1,100. You cannot buy a quality tow bar and brake system for less.

The ReadyBrake system is a relatively low cost proportional surge brake setup with a one time installation. Once installed, it only requires connecting a simple snap clip at the front of the toad to hook up. We've towed over 40,000 miles using a ReadyBrute tow bar that incorporates the ReadyBrake system, and couldn't be happier with it. Highly recommended...
