Ready to go. Just don't know where!

We are packed and ready to leave tomorrow for 10 days of camping and paddling on the Ozark National Scenic Waterways (Current and Jacks Fork Rivers), but the accesses are closed. Switched gears and made reservations at Ochlockonee River SP in the Florida Panhandle, but they are on storm alert and may have to close. We have been home for two months and I am ready to GO. May go over and sleep in the TT tonight. lizze

  • It's gonna' be Florida. Canoes are loaded and we are ready to go. lizzie
  • lizzie, don't know if you have left yet or not, but the storm due to hit FL has been downgraded and they aren't even sure it will be a tropical storm when it makes landfall. dry front is creating sheer that is tearing the storm apart. Just remember as you said "the rivers will be cooking" after the rain. dumping a boat in fast moving water will get your heart pumping faster than most of us prefer.
  • Does Branson have good whitewater rivers? If not, count me out. lizzie
  • I have never been to Branson, but would be a trip I would like to take sometime.

Branson, MO. We had a major RV trip planned in 2010, but got rained (flooded) out. We called around and found out that Branson was dry so we went there. Had a great time.
  • But after the rain...the rivers are going to be cooking!
