Real life usage w/ 6 gallon hot water tank

With the 1500w electric element doesn't matter if we take Navy or not it'll last through 2 adults and 2 kids. With the gas it's typically gone when I go and take mine and all of the previous are Navy showers.

We can get all 4 of us done with back-back navy showers. we run the electric side all the time. when we all go to take showers we turn on the gas side so the water heats faster. with this method the 4th person (me :S) has just warm water. it takes time to learn how to save 6 gallons of hot water!

She showers. Wait until W/H shuts off and I shower. Works for us.

Ouch. This hurts. Why would you just dump precious water outside? Catch it into a jug and use it for dishes or flushing the toilet.

6 years living in the RV, 6 gallon heater, 15 minutes to hot water from turning on and take navy shower, wife uses a little more water, shapoo and body separete, enough water left for breakfast dishes.

I bought a shut off addapter at Home Despot that is easier to turn on anf off and placed it between the shower head and the hose, the shower head has a sliding lever that is imposible to turn off or on with a soappy hand.

we dry camp frequently .
we only use the propane mode for the 6 gallon .
we are careful but not to a point of obsession .
I have never run out of hot water .
I mostly let the missus go first .

If the water heater has both gas and electric options running them both will cut the recovery time to 20 minutes or so.

I traveled with my DW and her girl friend that had lost her husband. I was third in line for the shower, ladies took navy style, we have both gas and electric turned on, and I had plenty of hot water.
We now have a 10 gal. tank and DW will take a continuous shower, and I still have lots of hot water.

Objective of showering in an RV is different from showering at home.
In RV, objective is to get clean. Navy shower accomplishes that.
At home, objective is to get clean as well, but also relaxation, enjoyment, have lots of hot water hit your body. Water quantity in all forms ( hot water, fresh water, and waste water) is not limited. All of these are limited in an RV ( when dry camping).

Recap- navy showers, allow 30 minutes between and you will not have an issue
