Real life usage w/ 6 gallon hot water tank

My first experience taking quick showers in the TT was a bit disappointing. Wife and I took separate quick showers but the hot water faded during my shower.

I'm just curious what other users with 6 gallon tanks experience? Is it best to let tank recover before the next use. Is the only way to make it last is to take navy showers?

  • Let it reheat in between but take "navy" showers also as you will run out if you leave the water running.
  • We have three showers amongst us and haven't had an issue with quick showers. I think the key is to let the initial 6 gallons of water heat up adequately before taking the first shower. Also, make sure your propane tanks have propane :-)
  • Our Tango Fifth has the 6 gallon hot water heater and we both take adequate showers, mostly Navy style, and we don't run out of hot water.
I try to conserve and watch the grey tank capacity.
  • Yes, let it re-heat between showers. Its OK to run the gas and electric heat at the same time for faster recovery.
  • Navy showers for us.

If the water heater has both gas and electric options running them both will cut the recovery time to 20 minutes or so.
