If that were the case, they would not be seeing 4-5 per day as posted.
When Florida carpenter ants mate, they are not active at first and the first broods (young) do not leave the colony. They stay inside the young colony to expand it and take care of the new queen.
It is not impossible, but extremely unlikely.
