Reflectix 'panels' for winter storage?

I purchased my previous camper from an older couple. They had made reflectix panels to go in the windows, behind the HWT access door and behind the fridge access panel.

I don't think I've ever seen anyone else do this. I guess the idea for the hwt and fridge was to keep critters and bugs out. It did seem to work pretty good for the windows as well as the curtains were barely faded.

Anyone else go to these extremes?

  • While FTng we used them in windows during winter. Really helped hold heat in.

Sometimes in summer we would strategically place them in very sunny windows to keep heat out

WH & fridge....no cause we always used them.
  • You certainly don't want to block the airflow to Your Water Heater or Fridge ! Using it on the Windows makes sense though especially if they are Not Double Glazed!

That said if only used during periods of storage it sounds like the Previous Owner was protecting their investment by taking steps to keep things buttoned up! Kudos !
