Refrigerator flame

When the absorption refrigerator is in the gas mode is the flame always lit or does it go on and off as needed.

    For your fridge...

You should hear the "snick-snick-snick-snick whoosh" when the pilot lights and the fridge starts. It will turn off on its own when it hits the configured temp, and then snick-snick-snick-snick whoosh when it cycles back on again.

    (...unless I'm wrong)

No pilot...flame IS the main flame on fridge
My fridge doesn't 'snick'---it CLICKS LOL

Old,Old models did have a bypass flame

Next time you get to say that you were testing us! Instead of that W word. Lol.
  • Well... My "old" (1990) fridge has the DSI thing and does turn off and on with the snick, click, snick business.

My "new" (2004) fridge stays lit all the time - that's the small fridge in our B.

About this I know I'm not wrong.

Pasusan: what is make and model of your "new" refer?
It's a Dometic RM2353. The kind where you have to hold in the gas button then push the piezo button to light it.
  • Looked at the manual. Yes, it is full pilot light system with 120 volt element as a manual setting.
It just sounded odd that it is pilot light style.
