Removing old caulk after softening it

I am planning on using goo-gone caulk remover to soften old caulk. Anyone have any feedback on that choice and removing old caulk? Thanks Doug
  • Or peel with a razor blade. I’d try that on smooth surfaces.
  • On hard surfaces I use plastic putty knives. You can use them on rubber roofs also if you are careful.
  • My roof is fibergl but most dicor seems to be intact. I am working on the side now. While I like the oscl tool I would be nervous about using it on the caulk removal. I will keep it in mind though. Doug
  • I replaced my skylight and of course it had lots of Dicor sealant. I removed the sealant with a blade on my oscillating tool. Now my roof is fiberglas, if you material is "rubber" roofing you may damage with this tool.
