Repairing Damage from a Blowout

I experienced my first blowout yesterday...maybe it wasn't a blowout, but the tire shredded and did some damage. It'd not a lot of damage and I was wondering if I could fix it myself. If I could find out where to buy the materiel I'm thinking I could cut out the damaged area and patch in some new.

Thoughts?

  • roof flashing works great and can be rolled into shape if needed using a metal pipe. no need to pay crazy prices rv suppliers want for fender trim
  • Now Highly think about a.....,.T.P.M.S.,......So you know ...if another one goes south.....
  • I would fix it myself. I'd go to Lowe's or Home Depot and look around for something that would work as a patch and use Gorilla Glue or a good waterproof glue and patch it.

Hell, I was laying on my back and that's the furthest I could get away. The area is just behind the wheel well. In the first pic you can see the back edge of the wheel well and then a cross member piece that goes from the frame rail to the outside wall. The damage in the second pic is just behind that cross member.
