I'm with the others who installed a residential fridge -- love it & would not want to go back to propane.
That said, there are a couple of provisos . . .
- Have an adequate battery bank (at least 6 six-volt) & a good solar setup if you plan to camp off the grid.
- install fans to pull air from inside your RV so that it flows behind your fridge and out your old roof vent.
The last item I discovered while full timing. We were at a campground for about a month and parked so the sun struck the fridge side our our RV for most of the day. During that time fridge temps would rise enough that I installed the fans.
BTW, pulling air from the outside into the back of a fridge never made sense to me -- regardless whether you have a propane or residential fridge.
