My OPINION:
IF you can dig into the coach and figure out the reason for the salvage title, give it a go. If you can get to the details, then you can look at how any problems were dealt with to get it back in working order.
If you are still comfortable with the coach after that due diligence, offer $50k and negotiate from there, to whatever point YOU feel comfortable with.
If you are planning (with some certainty) to keep it for a number of years, go for it. If you are one who trades frequently, selling it will almost surely be difficult.
If problems were dealt with properly, these can be outstanding deals for an informed buyer.
Good advice, but.....
Sometimes even a good deal may not be what it seems!
If indeed it is a salvage title - make triple sure you know the reason!
RV's have been used as Meth Labs - a poster was on here a while back - the salvage folks indicated it was salvaged due to being a "Bio-Hazard" - w/o details.
(Depending on the "Bio-Hazard", it probably should have been reduced to kindling wood & scrap. May not be livable.....ever!)
Another guy on SKPs had his expensive 5th wheel totaled - mainly due to a bent frame from a collision.
The person who bought the trlr at auction, was never told *why* it was totaled.
Learned the circumstances when he was able to contact the former owner - to ask why his "deal" trailer wouldn't track.
No thanks on either one..:(
BUYER BEWARE !!..:(
