Couple of reasons for hose at dump station to have end cut off:
1) Folks hook it up to black tank flush and spend WAY too much time flushing while others are waiting to dump
2) Folks hook it up to black tank flush and spend WAY too much time flushing while others are waiting to dump
Hose is just for rinsing dump hose/fittings and surrounding area if mess is made
NOT for flushing tanks.
It's a dump station.........pull up/dump/GO!
This could not have been stated any better. It drive me crazy. Our most frequent camping park has 1 dump, and 1 dump only. once in a while someone will actually rinse, it makes me want to pull my hair out.
I didn't realize it was not good etiquette until today, since I just thought you were always supposed to rinse. But lucky for me, and you, we don't go to campgrounds where there are lines at the dump station, or it is very rare. (I think in the 8 weeks we spent on the road this summer we maybe had a line 3 times, but just one other person.) Also, we only rinse for about 30 seconds anyway, since that is all it takes for us to see clear water. We are a small trailer with a small holding tank. Since we can't rinse at home and FHUs are rare where we go and therefore not an option for just rinsing, you would tear your hair out even faster if you had to wait for me to go back inside and dump water into the toilet. So, Next time there is someone behind me (like I said, very rare) I will ask them if they mind if I rinse. If they do, I'll pull out and let them go first, by all means. Thanks for the heads up. I honestly didn't even know it was an issue. You folks have educated me.
