I think everyone has it wrong! First ... why are you all so impatient. Camping is about the "experience." Part of that experience is the dump station. Like like trip planning, planning your daily activities, and planning your meals, you need to just relax a little and plan using the dump station too. So, there's someone ahead of you flushing their tanks.... so what? Why are you in such a hurry? Take the opportunity waiting in line to meet your fellow campers also waiting, or better yet, go visit the guy at the dump station. You just might learn something interesting by striking up a friendly conversation.
The problem is, far too many are in such a darn big hurry. Hurry up to get to the camp ground, hurry up to do all the activities, and then hurry up to get home! And you find yourself exhausted! Why? So you can hurry up and get to work the next day???? Sheesh!
Build the time and the activity in your schedule and relax a bit! It's only a dump station. So what if the person in front of you wants to take a few extra minutes to flush their tanks out! Maybe they don't have any other opportunities or any other way to do so.
AND .... if you are fortunate to be the only person at the dump station, why not take your time?
If the campground supplies the tools, (like threaded hoses) ... I don't see any reason why it should not be used to flush your tank!
(Personally, I don't flush my tanks, even though I have a black tank flusher. I use my on-board grey water and back-flush from grey tank to black tank and flush that way. Takes no more time and does a great job of pulling out much more than just the initial dump. And yes, a single dump without adding water, rinsing, or back flushing will leave a lot of crud in your tank, that will eventually begin to build up. So I definitely understand and have no problems with anyone wanting to take the time to flush their tanks the best they can!)...If it's threaded ... why not use it!
