If you have roadside assistance for your tow vehicle because you have a new vehicle, or you have it through your insurance then you don't need to buy roadside assistance coverage so long as they will cover towing your trailer if the tow vehicle breaks down.
My insurance includes roadside assistance, but not for a motorhome so I have Coach-Net. I didn't pay the extra $10 a year for coverage on trailers with a motorhome so I had to pay $300 to have my trailer towed once. I had a wheel bearing go out on my tag axle last year and the $500 bill for travel time was covered by Coach-Net. (Mechanic had to drive six hours round trip.)
A tow bill for my motorhome could be $1000 so it is worth it to me.
