Broadly speaking, the more expensive cameras tend to be a bit sturdier (at least to a point), although some of the really cheap cameras with fixed lenses that neither zoom nor focus are pretty sturdy simply because there's not much to break. The smallest cameras tend to be the most delicate. Cameras with lenses that extend in a zillion nested pieces and collapse to a tenth their size in use tend to be rather more delicate than more fixed lenses.
Condensation can be problematic, though I mostly have difficulty due to (temporarily) fogging the lens with the water droplets. A weather-sealed camera should help somewhat, as would one where the interior volume doesn't change so much (i.e. a lens that doesn't extend significantly). The two often go together.
