The answer is easy. Put yourself in the other guys shoes. Would you want to listen to his choice of music or TV program for long periods of time or the birds singing in the trees? There has to be a balance of tolerance and consideration to be around others.
We avoid campgrounds because we don't enjoy being squeezed into a noisy sardine can. Even boondocking noise carries a long way when you don't have any white noise to block it out. People talking, music, TV all can be heard from quite the distance, a generator is a hum on the wind and will be a half mile or more away.
