Roof damage

I posted a while back about my sons 2008 Rockwood Ultra lite TT roof rotting near ac unit. We figured it was leaking around the ac seal because all of the caulk was good and no cuts anywhere. Well, it wasn't the ac seal, it had a small hole poked through the membrane under the edge of the ac unit. We couldn't see it as the ac is too close to the roof. At some time a branch had jabbed under there or it was there from the time it was new. He has always kept it under cover and only summer camped. Who knows??? PPL wanted $5,000 to strip and repair or about $3,500 to cut the membrane and patch the wood panels. We are going to fix it ourselves. I'll post more pics next week.
Also, PPL are very good people to deal with.

  • Surprisingly plywood doesn't fare much better than OSB when it's kept moist.
  • That really is too bad. So much work and money.. Sorry to hear this.
