Newborns? I don't think I could stuff my 4 yr old granddaughter through a 14X14 vent, no matter how hard I stuffed, and she's as skinny as a rail. Maybe when she was 18 months.
A lot has to do with who made the replacement lid. If it was made / marketed by Heng's or Camco, don't expect to get long out of it if its exposed to UV.
