Round bars should be close to parallel to the trailer tongue, trunnions angle down. You should start with by using the number of links specified by the manufacturer and then use washers to get the correct amount of tilt and WD. Also, to the OP, when you ask a hitch question and reference the number of links, use the number of links under tension, not hanging. That information is irrelevant as all chains may not be the same length
