I do it all the time when I'm parked at my MIL's....but then i make sure nothing else runs & i monitor the incoming voltage & current drawl closely !
I installed a couple of 10 dollar (inductive) AC voltage & current meters in the coach so i know the status of the income current and my load.
the wiring for these panel meters was SIMPLE -

i even added a 12v socket so i could monitor my batteries (when not on shore power or gen) and when i am on shore power the 12v meter tells me what the output of the converter/charger is

when all that is available is a 15 or 20 amp outlet i make certain to control my electrical use & demand. I keep the water heater & fridge on propane and turn off the A/C if i need to use the coffee maker or if my wife needs to blow dry her hair.
