RV Antifreeze

I do not have the bar-code so I cannot verify the validity of this msds, I just found a link to it in another forum:

It appears to be a Ethanol/Propylene glycol blend.

Just don't take all of this too seriously, some of us (like me) are just more fanatical and paranoid about things.

i had just stocked up on that great price pink stuff at wally world. you guys scared the stuff out of me on the alcohol deallie.

so yesterday morning i hiked out to the barn and read the label on one of those 6 jugs of super tech stuff.

It was NOT alcohol based. :C

I got ours at Ted's RV on 208th st. & 40th in Langley. If you ever need to buy parts & supplies, they are really helpful and can find some oddball items too. Used to be 4 or 5 dealers in Langley, but now there's only one left.

Fraserway out in Abbotsford usually carries the PG stuff AFAIK but last year they ran out.

I've noticed this as well. I had the pleasure of using the PG version a few years ago and was very surprised in the spring as to how much easier it was to dewinterize without the constant smell and taste. I can't remember where I got it from, though. I see you're in my neck of the woods; do you know off hand where it is available locally?

I was in five different stores locally this morning, ranging from a lumber yard to big box home improvement stores and a Walmart. They all stock PG based RV antifreeze, with prices ranging from $2.49 to $3.97 a gallon. I didn't see any alcohol based antifreeze at any of them.

I just picked up some PG antifreeze for $2.50/each at our local Farm & Home store! It is Peak, but in looking at their website, they have both the PG AND Ethanol antifreeze, so read the bottle carefully as mentioned!!!!

I need to stop by and grab a couple more bottles. Not sure exactly how much I need for our new rig!!!

I also use RV anti-freeze to run through my power washer. I have a small emergency sump pump. I use it to pump water through the city valve prior to running it through the water pump bypass.

Then I take the pump and a bucket, hook it up and pump anti-freeze through the power washer. I am sure that last winter when it hit 20 below here in Ohio (for a few days), it would have cracked the valve on the PW if it had water in it, as well as parts in the RV.
