I'm going to look into that "junk elevator" but not for the reason of this post discussion. I'm tall, about 6'2" and long legged. I often feel off balance when trying to sit on our coach's commode because it is so low. I have already pulled a towel rack off the wall because I thought I was headed to the floor. This device raises the seat 5 1/2". Sounds like the answer.
