RV Caulking

I need a tube (NOT a cartridge that fits in a caulking gun) of white or clear caulking to seal a couple of things on the sides of my trailer (the top of the patio light, etc)

I don't want to open a 10 oz cartridge just to seal a couple of things. Any ideas on what I could use?

  • I used the Dap that dries clear for the last small seal job, but I have 4200 and 5200 also. All good.
  • I second the recommendation above for the 3M 4200 Sealant/Adhesive quick-dry. Not sure it comes in the small tubes though.

I know the 3M 5200 Marine/Adhesive sealant does but it is a permanent caulk and very difficult to remove should it be necessary. It is available at Walmart in a one ounce squeeze tube.

  • Sure would be nice if Dicor would put out one of those small tubes like the DAP stuff for the tub at home!
  • The best is the 3M 4200 Sealant/Adhesive quick-dry in the small "squeeze" tube. West Marine carries it.

I carried that same tube in the MH just in case there was a leak. Two years ago for no apparent reason the passenger window stared leaking badly. I used that tube to seal it and it hasn't leaked since. I used to carry a large tube with a gun but the small tube worked good.
