first, look at the web site for locations and restrictions. if the shoe doesn't fit, don't buy it.
yes, there are limitations, holidays, etc. yes some limit you to 2 or so days in a row, but I found them to waive that usually. but If I wanted to stay for 3 days (and the limit was 2) I could pay the normal rate for the third day and have the cost of the year's membership paid for.
I have never been stuck in an undesirable site because of PA membership.
One campground's write up stated not available Wednesdays but that was because that was the night they had a band in, etc.
many of their campgrounds were off the beaten path.
If you can't find an acceptable campground twice a year, then don't get it. but don't sign up without checking the web site first to see if you can live with the "rules'.
quite a few clothing optional campgrounds were in the book the last time I checked.

these are the restrictions on one campground I picked at random,
"RATES ARE FOR RV SITE ONLY. $3 ADDITIONAL FOR EACH PERSON IN RV. Pull through sites are open year round. PA discount is valid Sunday through Thursday ONLY. During peak season, April 1st through October 31st. PA is valid for a minimum and maximum of 2 nights. PA discount is not valid during holiday weeks and cannot be combined with other offers or discounts. Limited services available from Nov thru March. Tent sites have no hookups. Credit cards accepted (MC & Visa). No smoking. Pets welcome. No pets permitted when tent camping. *RATES ARE FOR RV SITE ONLY. $3 ADDITIONAL FOR EACH PERSON IN RV. Applicable taxes applies.
