Thanks for all the feedback everyone. I like the build on that Turtletop, thanks for posting. That was my general idea to construct a cage like that in the front area of the rear house. But as someone else mentioned, who is to say that my build will be reliable or help anything in a crash?
What if it turns into a death cage in a rollover? So much to think about. I hate that I care so much about safety. It's just so hard to think about going on a trip with my 8 year old in the back. Truth be told, I'd rather have her and her mother ride up front while I risk my life in the dinette, I suppose.
