I don't know if they were manufacturer installed, or not. I think that only two positions in RVs are required to have seatbelts by the DOT. They are the front seats. It will probably remain that way until some congressman or senator's family is killed while riding in the rear living area of a motorhome. In the mean time, we all have to do our best to comply with the whole bazaar of various state laws in the states we pass through.
Actually my dinette has a warning sign for the side behind the passenger seat that says DO NOT SIT HERE WHEN IN MOTION.And there are no seat belts there.
Things I have done to haul the grandkids along. Our old Class A had removable bucket type swivel seats with seatbelts on the floor. Removed the swivel seats and strapped their child seats right on the floor. No way were they going anywhere. On our current DP, we have strapped their seats on the J sofa with the supplied seat belts. I don't like the child seats sitting on the sofa sideways, but there is not way one could strap them so they are facing forward, but have to make do. Not to worried with this coach, as it has a excellent safety record!
