When it comes to death it's all about odds. Well let me correct that. When it comes to ANYTHING it's all about odds.
RV'ing on the road is one of the most dangerous things you can do while on vacation. Yep, true story. It's ranked as the 5th cause of death in the US. To be on any road in the US in any vehicle for anything is very dangerous.
That being said, why just pick on auto accidents? Why not pick on 1 through 4; or 6 through 10? Do you let your kids eat fast or fried food? If so, you should stop because heart disease is the #1 killer in the US.
For kids #6 is homicide so do you move out of the city and have them just go to a private school or maybe even get them a body guard?
For kids, #9 is drowning, so do you keep your kids away from water just to keep them safe?
Just how far do you take it? Should you have your kids wear helmets and a fire suit while strapped into their motorhome cage you made for them?
I am criticized all the time for racing cars because it's "dangerous". The irony of that is I'm probably 100x's more safe driving 140mph on a race track with an ambulance 30 seconds away than towing my car to the track at 55mph!! :E
The good news is there are things more dangerous than RVing with your kids, and I bet most don't even consider not doing those things because of the danger.
